Kids Capoeira

Our Kids Capoeira classes are for children of all abilities between the ages of 5 and 12 years old. No prior experience is necessary. In a positive and fun environment, children will learn all about capoeira, developing strength, coordination, respect, and fitness. Capoeira blends movement, self-defense, acrobatics, and music and is a wonderful space for children to explore all of these elements. Children will learn how to play different instruments used in capoeira, including the atabaque, berimbau, and pandeiro. They will also learn to sing capoeira songs in Portuguese and learn about Brazilian culture.

The preschool program is an introduction of capoeira for young children, taught specifically for this age group. This is a fun way to introduce young children to movement and music through martial arts.

This is our introductory level class that teaches the basic movements of capoeira and is an introduction to the art form. It is a positive and inclusive environment that welcomes all children to participate and engage..

This class is for children ages 8 and up, or by invitation for younger children. It is a more advanced class that moves beyond the basics into more advanced movements.

Adult Capoeira

Our adult classes are open to individuals ages 13 and up, and are open to all levels. Beginners are welcome! In the classes, students learn the different movements in capoeira, developing their strength, fitness, coordination, flexibility, and self-defense skills. Students also learn to play the atabaque, pandeiro, and berimbau, as well as the songs that are sung during a capoeira “game.”
