Slleyk da Bahia is a professional dance teacher and artist from Salvador Bahia, the heart of Afro-Brazilian culture.
He comes from a Physical Education background (Bachelor of Arts from the University of Bahia) and ten years ago he began his career in dance.
He has appeared on TV the Travel Channel Dance the World with Jaycee Gassett and is recognized for his ability to work with the stars and teaching them how to dance samba. He also works as choreographer for the world famous Samba Reggae group OLODUM during Carnival each year.
Slleyk da Bahia continues giving workshops at events for big companies such as FORD and travels around the world teaching and performing. His has been most recently seen in Switzerland for the SambaFest:

He has also been seen in the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, and Switzerland.
Since 2001 Slleyk has been working for Olodum. He started his career in the Olodum Non-Profit School teaching dance and percussion to underpriviledged kids. He also worked along side Nem Brito of Dance Brazil teaching dance in the Diaspora Center for the Arts.

Slleyk da Bahia has over ten years of experience in teaching dance. He as worked with non-profit organization, universities, and private schools in the art department. He specializes in Brazilian dances styles such as Samba, Samba Reggae, and Afro-Brazilian .
“So Alegria”, Slleyk’s personal motto means only happiness. Slleyk believes in promoting happiness through his dance and to those that dance with him.
